What are Posterous & Twitter?

I also regularly update inspirational snippets that I’m reading, great stories that I’ve heard  or anything that takes my fancy with short ‘micro-blog’ posts (or ‘tweets’) using twitter – these are more regular but shorter updates that I send from my phone. Posterous is somewhere inbetween – I use it for photos, quotes and other stuff that’s longer than twitter and shorter than a blog post.

How do I get these updates?
