We’ve had a great time camping as a church at Shuttleworth. I think we had the best pitch on the site – right next to the house with a fantastic view every morning to wake up to. Worship was awesome and PJ Smythe spoke brilliantly throughout the weekend (apparently the talks will be available here in due course)
I also had the chance on Sunday night to share about the 7 teenagers healed in Bedford last week. I hadn’t asked to share it but had felt God speak to me that the timing of that outbreak of miracles was significant – the day before Shuttleworth. I know that it happened right then because it’s not about me or Tabo but Jesus wanting to inspire His church at what he can do. I’m not expecting that every time we go out that we’ll have similar results – but what I do know is that now that I’ve seen what’s possible the ceiling just got lifted! I pray that we have stories from across the region of new adventures!
I also spoke Saturday night at the youth event, tagging on to the end of Wendy speaking on healing. I spoke on deliverance which I was a bit nervous about given that there were 12 year olds in the room. However, I felt a grace to do it and Mel Crane who was overseeing the event reminded me that if we don’t teach them from the Bible they they will get their theology of the supernatural from Buffy the Vampire slayer or Harry Potter. Good point Mel – it gave me the confidence to go at it hard and we saw so many kids set free, encountering Jesus and having the nasty stuff broken off. Thank you Jesus
I felt a new liberty also in words of knowledge this weekend. I’ve been praying for them more and more because I’m convinced that they are critical for our outreach – they open up unbelievers almost as much as healing (as Paul leads us to expect in 1 Cor 14:25). Anyway had some really specific ones in a couple of meetings and had people coming up to me all weekend reporting the freedom that came. One word about someone who had been strangled resulted in 5 people responding and massive freedom ensued! It’s spurred me on to go back to KA and urge them to keep pressing in for this key gift. What would happen if we can get an army of believers firing off accurate words of knowledge in the workplaces of Bedford!
